Based in the lovely cathedral city of St Albans, England, Althea has spent many years researching and writing about a variety of unusual subjects, in particular the grief engendered by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or around birth. She had also studied addiction to food, the spiritual journey made by pilgrims and the psychology of wombtwin survivors. (i.e. the sole survivors of a twin or multiple pregnancy.)
As these subjects are mostly too specialised for mainstream publishers, Althea created Wren Publications in 1995 to make these books available.
